Flash required for OTBI (expected HTML5 view)

Content

Hi,

According to:

http://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/tutorials/tutorial/cloud/r12/wn/r12-financials-wn.htm#_Toc475946739 "OTBI graphs can now be viewed in web browsers that do not support Flash Player. The OTBI default graph style has been changed from Flash to HTML5."

vs

https://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17904_01/relnotes.1111/e10132/biee.htm "Users must have Adobe Flash Player version 10.1 or later installed on their browsers to correctly view all graphs and scorecards that are generated by Oracle BI EE."

I have a customer that reports "All our OTBI report/graphs are asking for flash player. Our version of OTBI: 11.1.1.9.0 (Build 170915.0500 64-bit)"

Do you have any idea which information is correct? Is Adobe Flash Player required or not?

Any help is very appreciated.

  • In OBIEE 11.1.1.9 there is a setting which isn't enabled by default to use HTML5 instead of flash.

So you maybe have to configure it that way (assuming you have access to config)
