Summary

Can a BI Subject area be source to Data Flow

Content

I would like to take data from a subject area and run Sentiment analysis on that.

However, the only way i can achieve that is by extracting that data from BI classic (OBIEE) in OAC and the upload the file in Data Visualization.

Does any one know if allowing a subject area to be source of a Data Flow is on road map or possible?

  • Hello Manav,

this is possible in the 18.3.3 upgrade of OAC which is in the process of happening right now (should be GA on all datacenters within days). With this update you are able to create datasources directly from RPD Subject Areas (SAs) and then use them in Data Flows. The current way of directly querying SAs remains as well, this new feature comes in addition to the existing capability.

You can see an overview of new capabilities of 18.3.3 here : imagehttps://youtu.be/o6UB1MNf3_4  even if this particular feature is not highlighted in that overview.

    Thanks

I'm have the same issue in OBIEE . The video link posted is restricted and I'm unable to access it. How can one bring in Subject Area data to a data flow in OBIEE? I don't see options to query data in the data flow creator.

You need to upgrade or migrate to Oracle Analytics Server or Oracle Analytics Cloud for this capability.
