Data Visualization for Desktop Mac connection to SQL server

Stating the obvious, I am sorely new at this and am only posting my question as I couldn't find anything related to what I am needing to do. Which is, how do I establish a connection from DVD for Mac to a SQL server? The only connection types available are Oracle and don't see where/how to add one for SQL.
Apologies to those who lament yet another newbie here and thank you to those who offer the needed guidance and insight.
