OAC pricing question
Content
Hi Everyone,
Apologies for posting pricing/billing question on a technical forum. I'm hoping to get some clarity about the pay as you go monthly pricing model for Oracle Analytics Cloud. I can use the price estimator tool to spit up a number based on hourly usage and license type, but one thing I'm not clear about is the minimum number of users required to access the OAC service?
I know it used to be a minimum of #20 users and I'm not sure if that is still the case? I'm currently using an always-free account for personal use and I'm thinking of upgrading to a paid account to experiment with some of the paid services and OAC is one them.
Thanks in advance for your responses.
Thanks,
Omar

Use 1 OCPU account, it can cater to atleast 25 users (also on OCPU based subscription there is no commitment on minimum users & its cheapest as well)

Thanks Ankit for your response.
A couple of follow up questions if you don't mind.
When you say use 1OCPU do you mean at the time of registering the new service?
My account is running one VM with one OCPU; is this what is counted when the usage is calculated?
Am I right to assume if I don't use the service at all I won't be charged at all? if so, how is usage determined? do you need to start an analytics instance for example?
Thanks,
Omar

Hi Omar.
Hope I'm not to late on this.
In OCI you can check how much OAC is consuming and set thresholds and alerts to monitor its consumption.
If the service is active you may still be charge even if no one is using (a minimum, I noticed based on my experience).
I think there is a way to configure an automatic stop and resume/start using OCI APIs when you are not using it but I didn't follow up, to be honest.
This may help.
Cheers
Fernando
