How to hide "--Select Value--" from dropdowns

Hi All,

I know this is possible but I can't figure out how to do it. I need to hide "--Select Value--" so that it just shows as white drop down. Could anyone tell me how to hide that text?

    I edited obiprp.promptcomponents.xml to hide it, if someone knows a better way please let me know, this is for OBIEE 12c.
