I have had this same problem before. Indeed, it is not displaying in the line chart for certain months because the data simply doesnt exist.

What I did was to create a Direct Database Request in OBIEE, and I wrote a query based on a timeline (I used my Time dimension), and for each month, make a case to check for data, else add NULL.

I hope this gives you an idea.

Yes but I still would push it to the RPD and lower. DDRs have a habit of quickly reaching the limits of tjeir usability and generally aren't optimal.
