Parameters in Oracle DV will work only in the Variable prompts not the standard column prompts

We can't use parameters to default the values of standard column prompts, which is a standard feature required to default values dynamically etc..

Also we have a requirement to show the next level of hierarchy when a hierarchy level chosen in the prompts. Managed this using parameters but we are not able to use the multi select option on Parameters, as its erroring out in calculation.

This is restricting from delivering 2 features;

  1.1 Graph to show next level down 

  1.2 Multi select on prompt

We can mitigate 1.1 using paramters as variable prompts but then variable prompts can't be multi selected. OR

We can mitigate 1.2 using column prompts but then Graphs won't show next level down.
