Description (Required):

Whenever a date-based visualization is created, the granularity is set in stone. The only way around this is via parameters, but it gets ugly when quarters and non-numeric month names are brought into play. What would be great is if a user could either select or move up and down between levels of date (week/month/quarter/year/day etc.) within the view instead of having to create two separate and nearly-identical visualizations. This would be a big improvement to user-interaction and add more bang for your buck on trended charts.

Use Case and Business Need (Required):

Our business users often like to see data in different time frames. Many times this results in workbook bloating by either creating duplicate views or by including massive parameter-based case statements that slow down workbooks.

I would make this requirement more generic:

Have in DV data sets the possibility to model hierarchies (similar to hierarchies defined in semantic model) - time hierarchy is just special case of hierarchy (allowing you to use for example ToDate and Ago calculations).
