Set specific formats to Parameter dropdown values
In Answers, we can create a column selector view that allows us to assign specific formatting to every field being included in the dropdown list. For example, if we have both a % measure and a volume measure in the column selector we can set the format of one to a % and the other to an integer. Additionally, we can use the column selector in Answers to create a date period selectable like: Month, Week, Quarter, etc and assign specific formats to each of these columns like mmm-yy for month and yyyy for year.
In DV, there is no such ability to assign formats for each dropdown selection within a parameter and you're instead forced to assign a single format for all of them. This makes it impossible to use the parameter if you want to toggle between fields with different format like % vs decimal. Likewise, when using the parameter to allow a user to toggle between: Date, Week, Month, Qtr, etc you are stuck with only using a mm/dd/yyyy format for all the dropdown values.

This feature would help a lot in DV. Currently, we are limited to the format we can apply to parameters.

This would provide much needed formatting capability. It limits the use cases for the DV "column selector" that we can create with parameters. We have to build a set of visualizations for each data type: one for volumes, one for percentages, potentially another for metrics that require decimal places. It requires more real estate on your canvas to break them out this way and forces users to navigate through different sets of visuals.
If this can't be done with the parameters implementation, then a native DV column selector would be a better solutions. The one in Answers provides a lot of flexibility and options. We need parity with this feature in DV.

Bumping this idea as I feel this is an important gap between Answers and DV that needs to be closed. It really limits the use of the parameter-based "column selector" in DV. our users don't want to have 2-3 visuals of the same exact format on a page just to handle different datatypes. It would be very confusing and redundant (a waste of canvas real estate).
