Allow numbers as text as the key for Custom Reference Knowledge

I was really excited about the opportunity to upload custom reference knowledge to make life much easier for my end users, however I ran into an issue where even if the key column in a custom reference knowledge upload file is saved as text and identified correctly by OAC/OAS as an attribute, if the string only contains numbers then we receive an error saying that only short text is allowed as the key. This was surprising to me given that one of the delivered enrichments is for zip code, which often contains numbers stored as text.
The use case is straight forward: many users will have a spreadsheet of financial information. Let's say they have cost center and object code, maybe a transaction date, transaction description, and amount. What I want is to allow them to enrich cost center (in our world is five-character attribute that usually contains only numbers) and object (four numeric characters, but an attribute not a measure) with the text description, without having to create a join to the Chart of Accounts subject area.
Alas, I cannot do this today in OAC/OAS, as confirmed by Oracle Support. Join me in helping my users take advantage of enrichment!

Hi @shaffner - Thanks for submitting this idea. I'm the PM for the Custom Knowledge capabilities and it is great to hear you are interested in helping your users with custom knowledge enrichments. Unfortunately, you are correct we do have the limitation of not supporting numbers as keys. But this is definitely an enhancement that has been under consideration. I will be discussing this internally with Dev and hope to have an update for you in the near future.

@Luis E. Rivas -Oracle Thanks so much for the quick reply. Just one point of clarification (though you may not need it) in my use case many of the "numbers" are text for the same reason as zip codes sometimes need to be, that we have leading zeroes. We also in some cases (like zip) have a mix in the same key column, with some values having letters and number and others only numbers stored as text.
Great to hear that it is under discussion already!

Hi @shaffner, thanks for the above. It was definitely helpful to understand your use case. I do have some additional questions as we are refining the requirements that I would like to ask offline. Would you please send me an email at luis.rivas@oracle.com when you have a chance. Thank you.
