Action links/navigation process

I wanted some help on process of action links from summary report to detail report. I know that it is done through interactions tab. But what columns should be prompted in summary and detailed reports. Do we need to have all the columns from dashboard prompts,summary to be is prompted in details?

I am bit confused in this concept. New to OBIEE yet.

Any help will be appreciated.

It depends on what you want to have passed down as restrictions (filters) to the detail from the summary. Summary needs to react to dashboard prompts with is filters for example. Detail will need to react to anything you want as a restriction which can be new attribute columns that the dashbaord prompts didn't impact but you actually clicked on - i.e. the data point/intersection you want to see details for.
