Add Application roles Grey Out in repository.

Dear All,
I am trying to add Application Roles in Admin Tool. I have logged in with weblogic user. Tried in both online and offline mode. I need to get the Application roles created in EM to be reflected in Admin tool. As in OBIEE version 11.1.1.9 the Application roles created in EM are not reflecting in Admin tool, and need to create them manually.
OBIEE version: 11.1.1.9
Could any one give me a link which explains how to create New application roles and Policies (Not predefined) and how to assign groups. I Should be very Thankful.

This works only in offline mode. Make sure you aren't trying it in online.
In case it is some UI glitch, you may try to right-click on the right field of the Identity manager and select "New Application role".

Hi Andrew,
Thanks for the reply.
Currently the default rpd in EM is BISAMPLE_BI0008. I am unable to create the application role in BISAMPLE_BI0008 in offline mode, but able to create in older versions like BISAMPLE_BI0007, BISAMPLE_BI0006 in offline mode.
Do we need to create in BISAMPLE_BI0007 version and deploy in EM..?
Thanks

Eeeh? Are you editing repository currently deployed on a server?

Hi Andrew,
Yes. BISAMPLE_BI0008 is the currently deployed rpd in the server. Unable to do it in offline mode. Able to add Application Role in older versions.
Thanks.

That's not how things supposed to be done. At all.
1. Get the repository which was deployed to the server as version 8.
2. Edit this file.
3. Deploy it to the server as a new current repository (it will become _BI0009) using enterprise manager.
If you don't have the file from point 1, then:
1. Connect to the server in on-line mode.
2. Select menu File->Copy as
3. Save file to some folder
4. Close on-line mode.
5. Go to the point 2 of the previous list

Hi Andrew,
I took the copy and able to add the application role.Thanks.
But unable to see the all the users which were available in rpd in the newly created copy file. I am able to see all the users when I open rpd in online mode or in deployed rpd.
Thanks.

Yes, you will see all the users after publishing this rpd and opening it in on-line mode.
