Email Configuration settings for scheduling a job in OBIEE12C

Hi,
We are having a requirement to schedule the Jobs ,it is able to run the scheduled job but we are not getting email notifications.
we have followed the below link to set up mail configuration....
Can anyone please suggest us ,whether we are missing anything....

Well usual question: Have you had a look at what the log files actually say?
Otherwise we can also just throw semi-random suggestions at the problem.

It is throwing error as "Failed to open connection to smtp server"
we gave proper credentials but still we cant receive any mail...

Are you sure your BI server can actually reach that SMTP server?

we are not sure about it , but able to run the scheduled job successfully....

That should be the first thing you check: Can the servers actually communicate with each other.

We guess ,its not communicating so that's the reason it is throwing "Failed to open connection to smtp server"....

Ok once more: don't guess. Find out.
Can you ping the smtp server from the BI server? If you can't then you have a networking issue. Basically nothing to do with OBI.

In most Organisations, automatic access to the SMTP Server is revoked. You’ll need to find out from your IT guys whether this is a case and then they’ll need to give your OBIEE server access to the SMTP server.
