Referring to the discussion related to Future of OBIEE 11g in 2014 ,

it concluded nicely by @Steve Yeung  quoting

"Well, a few years down the line, we'll need to look at how OBIEE is doing instead of the ETL tool. Obviously ODI will still be mainstream. The point is to see how OBIEE is going to move forward since it's way behind compared to competitors products in terms of dashboard visualization."

And it has come out to be true tools like Tableau and QlikView have actually captured the market, OBIEE project and skillset are not in that demand, though OBIEE came up with DV still it looks that it has a tough competition to face.

What have been your experiences and thoughts on this and how should one steer ones career/learning path considering this shift.

Best Regards

"Captured the market" - care to qualify and quantify tha statement? Yes they aren't doing bad but that's like saying that "Tesla has captured the market frim BMW and Mercedes".

"OBIEE project and skillset are not in that demand" ... the principles on which this tool set was built are still in demand; it's not about the tool.  One who doesn't understand the fundamentals will fail with any tool.  What is an OBIEE Project?
