Using OBIEE 11.1.1.7

I am learning the ins and outs of action links and I see that the detail analysis must have the same logical table/column as the master analysis.  This works fine in my testing.

What I am trying to do, but having figured out how, is to have an action link pull up a different analysis, depending on the value of the link selected.

e.g.

I have 3 analyses:

  • Department 1 Details
  • Department 2 Details
  • Department 3 Details

I would like to create another analysis for Department Summary.

When the user clicks on the summary for Department 1, I want the Department 1 Details analysis to be displayed.

When the user clicks on the summary for Department 2, I want the Department 2 Details analysis to be displayed.

My initial thought was to have a dashboard with 3 analyses and conditionally format each section so that the correct analysis is displayed, depending on the value of the department coming in, but I can't see a way to use the department value outside of an analysis.

I know I could set this up as a hierarchy but my Department Summary and my Department Details are different subject areas.

Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi,

In Summary Department Analysis, on value create the Conditional Action links it will Display the report as per value required.

    for eg,

Create Conditional Action link like, Value Department 1 will display the Detailed  Department 1 analysis.

    Thank You.
