Hello Folks -

When I log into BI Analytics using our "admin" id (biadmin) i'm getting the following error message:

pastedImage_0.png

We needed to recreate the BISystemUser ID since for some reason it got removed. After donig so, this error appears.  Does anyone have any solutions? I've restarted services with no luck.

I can successfully log into WebLogic and EM.

Thank you!

The error message can't really be more explicit:

Your user has to have - either explicitly or implicitly - an application role assigned which gives him that actual privilege.

    Thank you!

But how do I change those permissions if i cannot log into OBIEE Analytics? I'm unable to log into OBIEE Analytics with any id...

    Thanks!

    Hi @2889517

As @Christian Berg has suggested, have you checked that your biadmin user has access to the Home Page by checking the Manage Privileges screen (in the screenshot that he provided)?

Have you you tried logging into your WebLogic Admin Console to check that your biadmin user does indeed have the BIAdministrator Administrator role?

    HI -

I"m new to OBIEE ; Planning, Essbase and DRM are my wheelhouse. So, pardon my questions :/

I"m in WL and have defined biadmin admin as admin:

    Is that what you mean?

There should be a BIAdministrators Admin Role which should be selected for your biadmin user to have BI Administrator privileges.

That's the WLS side. Now instead of logginf on to http://yourserver:7001/console you go to http://yourserver:7001/em

That's Enterprise Manager where the WLS LDAP groups (and any others attached to the security provider) get translated into application roles. In order for things to work properly your "biadmin" must be assigned or inherit enough groups or roles (both principal types work with inheritance) to have the necessary rights with regards to the vanilla screenshot I posted above. In that case it'd be "BIConsumer".
