RPD File

Hi Experts,

I started working on obiee 11g, very new to obiee,I created HR-MODEL. RPD FILE, i saved in my desktop with repository credentials ,when i start the presentation services i am not able to see that subject area,interesting thing is rpd file saved like a text file,it is not showing like a red colour,please help me.

Hi,

It's a bit confusing ...

So you developed a new RPD on your PC/laptop and you saved it on your Desktop and you are asking why when you login to OBIEE you don't see what you developed?

Well ... did you deploy your RPD using Enterprise Manager?

+1 to Gianni. RPDs are deployed to a server which then runs them. Putting them on your desktop doesn't actually do anything.

The steps you need to follow:

Develop RPD

Deploy RPD

     Enterprise Manager -> Business Intelligence -> Coreapplication -> Deployment tab     

     Lock n Edit Config

     Chosse your RPD

     Apply

     Activate Changes

Restart BI Server ( from Availability Tab)

OBIEE Docmentation is very concise with all the required steps for RPD deployment.
