Almost all key metrics in ERP Analytics (Finance) depends on Financial Category mapping. Proposing a Financial Category health check utility to assess how many key metrics are working per standard financial categories. This would eliminate the need for manual checking and validated each metrics to determine if the metrics is working or not.

  • Hey @BibinKumar! It's great to see you in the Idea Lab!

It sounds like maybe a dashboard could be created (either OOTB by Oracle, or manually by a customer) to pull in all of the possible Key Metrics to see if they have balances (and therefore, indicate that they are working).

Is this along the lines of what you had in mind? Please elaborate on any details that you think would be important to include. Thanks!

@Jamie Anderson-Oracle — thanks for this follow up discussion.

A dashboard under "Common" shared folder by Oracle would be ideal.

Current scenario: These categories are all over the places - key metrics, business metrics and various viz. Currently there is no referenceable metadata on which "fin cat" is used on what Viz. We have to pull the metrics logic from Excel, extract the financial categories, identify associated viz using these metrics and then test it. All manual work.

    in future state:

Love to see a "metrics health check dashboard" and some assertions associated with it giving hints on what is missing. With that customers can also trigger an actionable workflow to update the accounts on ERP/EDMCS side with appropriate financial categories.

    hope this helps.
