Linking Two OTBI Analyses' Together With A Deep/Action Link

Hi all,

I'm wondering if the following is possible and if so, how I'd go about doing it.

Example

I've got two reports, Report A and Report B.

Report A brings back an employees Name, Sickness Type and Dates of Sickness

Report B brings back more detailed information about the employees' absence we do not want to surface in Report A.

In both reports is the Person Number.

I can see an option within the 'Column Properties' window, under the 'Interaction' tab on each field in Report A the ability to select 'Action Link'.

I've found that this allows me to link a field in Report A to Report B, but ideally I'd like it to only return results in Report B for the employee I selected in Report A.

Is this something thats possible at all?

    Hi MikeW,

Have you tried putting "Person Number is prompted" in your filters on Report B.

I use this technique extensively when I want to drill down from summary to detail data, but the objects you are drilling down on need to be prompted fields in the Filter of the Detail Report. Example screenshot below. Getting the fields aligned between the two reports can be fiddly, especially if you have used CASE statements or IFNULL on the fields in the Summary Report, as these need to be replicated exactly in teh detail report if you are drilling down on them.
