Customizable columns in Pivot view
Answers
-
If I create all the columns individually, I will not have any control over 'Quarter Period' since my quarter period is not fixed always, might be till Q4 for some and till Q20 for others. It gets filtered from a prompt created in the dashboard, as a result, creating individual columns might not suffice. I clearly want to create a pivot table, showing each measure once for every 'Quarter Period' period, with the exception of 1 or 2 columns different from the other. Creating (20*4) will only complicate the analysis. Any other workaround?

As said: no. Because attributes vs. measures and the measures will always be repeated for every single attribute. That's how the pivot view work in OBIEE.

This is just a personal thought. Sometimes customer requirements are not feasible in OBIEE in the exact template format they want and their requirements may be driven from an already existing report they create using 'Excel'. So keeping that in mind, I would consider modifying the report layout (using your creative mind) in way that is not going to limit the functionality but at the same time is feasible in OBIEE. I do not know if you have already taken that route and found it not viable, but just putting it out here.
