Bind and Repository variables not passed to template in BI Publisher

When using one or more bind or repository variables SQL Standard Query of the data model of a report for BI Publisher we can see the values transferred correctly to the XML file created from the SQL Query, but they are not passed to the layout template in rtf edited on the MS Word 2010 application. Therefore it does not display in the output file in pdf format.
Also, those values are not passed when use in links in a pdf/BI Publisher report to call other reports written in the same format.
There used to be no problems with this before upgrading from 11g.
