    Are you connecting to a CDB or PDB?

    ok.. created a new user with sysdba role...

    used this user in the step 4.. worked.. got past that window...

    so why didn't the system user work?

    Sherry.. i'm not sure.. but i believe i unchecked the box for CDB when i installed Oracle?

    anyway... the OBIEE install seems to be proceeding now.. hopefully it will work when i get done.

    this whole exercise is just to see how OBIEE will connect to our SQL Server Databases for reporting.. and whether our table structure is suitable.

    which it probably is not.. we'll see how it works, but the odds are not good that we will end up using this.

    currently our reports is using a in-house modified Microsoft SSRS installation.

    Thanks for updating us Eric. Keep us posted on your progress and I'd especially be interested in your structures in that case. Modeling (no, not THAT kind) is my passion and I love a challenge :-D
