Hi All,

Good Evening.

I'm facing issue in bringing bi_server1 up and facing the below error while re starting the services,BI Application was down (able to login EM and Console) where as OPMN services are showing UP.

Please find the below screen. Version: OBIEE 11.1.1.7.1 Please suggest .

OPMN Status:

Error: (oracle_instance:instance 1 failed contacting opmn; please check if OPMN process running. Can not start or stop the components of BI instance.)

    Can you check the scheduler log files for more details of the error? Provide this information in order for some assistance as the information supplied isn't enougn unfortunately.

    Please find the below scheduler log, also even presentation sever is up but  BI application was down.

    Current Table: S_NQ_JOB.

    [nQSError: 17001] Oracle Error code: 12545, message: ORA-12545: Connect failed because target host or object does not exist

    at OCI call OCIServerAttach.

    Current Table: S_NQ_JOB_PARAM.

    [nQSError: 17001] Oracle Error code: 12545, message: ORA-12545: Connect failed because target host or object does not exist

    at OCI call OCIServerAttach.

    Current Table: S_NQ_INSTANCE.

    [nQSError: 17001] Oracle Error code: 12545, message: ORA-12545: Connect failed because target host or object does not exist

    at OCI call OCIServerAttach.

    Current Table: S_NQ_ERR_MSG.

    [nQSError: 17001] Oracle Error code: 12545, message: ORA-12545: Connect failed because target host or object does not exist

    at OCI call OCIServerAttach.. Errors were encountered while initializing Scheduler's backend database, check database configuration.

    what the errors indicate are the OBIEE is unable to connect to your RCU schema. Can you try connecting to your RCU database from your OBIEE server? Try SQL*Plus or try to tnsping the database from the OBIEE server to validate connectivity.
