NEW!!! INSTALL ORACLE BI 12C ON LINUX!!!

Hi!
I’m new Oracle BI 12c.
I have installed Oracle BI 12c , but then i realized i didn’t install Oracle DB 12c, so i'd like to ask you some questions:
1. Could I install Oracle DB 12c(12cr1 or 12cr2 ???) on the same server (Centos 6.8 server: 10.0.18.130) which I have intsalled Oracle BI 12c???
2. If impossible, Must I install Oracle DB 12c on windown or on Linux??? and obligatoryly install Grid infustructure????
Please help me!!
Thanks so much.

Hi,
The answer depends what's that install supposed to be: if it's a sandbox or test server you can have the DB on the same server as OBIEE (as long as you have enough hardware resources). As you can see in OBIEE Samples that's what they did there.
If it's a prod environment is generally a good practice to split things, mainly because it allows you to scale based on the need of each tool etc.
For the OS there is no rule, OBIEE do not care as long as it's a version of DB it can use (it will not be aware of the OS on which your DB installed).
I'm just curious how you managed to install OBIEE 12c without a DB as a DB is mandatory when configuring OBIEE (for the RCU schemas), or you maybe just did the weblogic / obiee install but not configured so far?

In theory you can and it's an acceptable approach if this is just an environment for you to play with. In a production environment you normally have db and obiee in different servers.
What I don't understand is how did you install OBIEE 12c without a database since you need to install metadata schemas (through the repository creation utility (RCU)) prior to the installation of OBIEE or did you install it in a different database?
Edit: @Gianni Ceresa was faster...

No, just "standard" (simple/normal) DB install, without any of those extra things.
