can anyone tell me if there is a go_url option to download a file to a specific directory and give the file a specific name?

The "specific folder" you have no way to set it, that would be too much.
For the other part of the question depends a lot on what the "file" is and where it comes from
http://blablabla:1234/analytics/saw.dll?downloadfile&Path=/shared/Marketing/Marketing_Smartview_template.xlsx

Just a brief follow on question if you don't mind, given this is undocumented where did you source this, or does the syntax follow some common programming language that is passing me by?
It was documented somewhere (and I guess it still is).
Of course it doesn't cover "download a file to a specific directory and give the file a specific name" as the target directory can't be set and the filename is the same as the file in the catalog ...
Yeah it is documented somewhere. Where...no idea :-) It's just random stuff that clings to my brain.
