Hello,

After upgrading to OBIEE 12c (12.2.1.2.0) we are facing an issue with the Agent Subscription where our standard users are unable to subscribe to the agents even though the "

We even checked the default permission for the View Deliver Lite UX and it is set to BI Consumer Role.

If I add the BI Consumer role to the "View Deliver Full UX" then they are able to see the Subscribe option but this setting change gives them the privilege to create agents too which we dont want.

How do we achieve this functionality - BI Consumers should be able to subscribe to the agents and should not be able to create them? What settings or privilege allow users to subscribe to the agents?

Thanks,

Uttam

    Hello SME's,

Do you have any suggestion to fix this?@Gianni Ceresa@Christian Berg@Joel Acha

I was thinking of raising an Oracle SR but i strongly believe this can be fixed using permissions. Please advise.

We're "Small to Medium Enterprises"? ;-)

Have you checked MOS? I think I saw something like that a while back but not at my laptop atm and browsing MOS on a mobile is just atrocious

LOL Christian - the Subject Matter Expert

I did check the Oracle Support but could not find anything useful...

  • I have the same impression as Christian: saw something connected to that somewhere in MOS but can't remember where, when, what ... Would have to search and be optimistic to find it again ...

I did try all the options mentioned in the MOS but I was unable to find a solution to this problem so I raised an Oracle SR and will wait to get their response. will keep everyone updated.

IIRC when I had that at a recent client the issue was missing "SOAP Request" access permissions.

Thanks Christian, I did give that permission as well. but still unable to get the Subscribe option to be enabled. I raised an SR as well and is reviewing the changes with them. Will keep posted.

If you go to Administration ---> Manage privilages--->

in the access section ---> Grant access to delivers do you have BI consumer here ?

If not add that, that will resolve your issue.

If this works you can remove Ux lite full access

    Thanks

Thanks Venkata but I do have the permission added for the BI Consumers in the "Access to Delivers" section. Oracle is asking for some logs by increasing the log level to finest. lets see what they discover...

If you are using OBIEE 12c, are your consumers able to subscribe to the Agents and at the same time not be able to create them?

To make an agent available for subscription, in the Recipients tab of the Agent editor, the Publish Agent for Subscription(available in Admin privs page) option must be selected, and users, and Catalog groups and Application roles that are allowed to subscribe must be identified.
