OBIEE 12c Horizontal Scaling - what is needed on node 2?
Hi Team,
I have been trying to scale out my OBIEE intance and is facing a bit of uncertainty. I am not sure what needs to be done on node2 to complete the configuartion.
I am deploying version 12.2.1.20 on Oracle Linux 7.
So far I have done this:
Prepared both nodes 1 and 2 with all prerequisite packages.
Node 1 :
step 1: java -jar fmw_2.2.1.2.0_infrastructure.jar
step 2. run bi_platform-12.2.1.2._linux64.bin
step 3 run rcu
step 4 run the config.sh location in the Oracle_Home/bi/bin directory
Node 1 is operational now
step 5 stop services and setup sharing area. All done.
Before deploying the cloned template to Node2, which of the above steps from Node1 needs to be administered to Node2?
Thanks,
Shridath

Hi,
did you check the official doc (https://docs.oracle.com/middleware/1221/biee/BIESG/cluster.htm#BIESG9281 ) ? They cover all the steps required on both servers.
As alternative just searching in Google get you https://www.peakindicators.com/blog/installing-an-oracle-bi-12c-cluster and OBIEE 12c - Horizontal Scaling - Red Stack Tech which both say the same thing: on server 2 you need to install weblogic and OBIEE but not configure OBIEE (so no RCU and no config.sh).
