Aggregate rule in rpd not working

I have created an rpd with an aggregate rule set to sum howver when I upload the  rpd to BICS, the aggregate rule doesn't seem to work and instead of getting a sum I am getting a count. anyone ran across this issue before?

    Can you check the physical query generated and see if SUM is used or COUNT?
