i am using obiee 12c. i am trying to display data for all columns values for pivot table prompts column. but when i add column in 'pivot table prompts' by default its taking first row value and filtering whole report based on that value. anyone suggest how can a achieve displaying the data for all column values without using the dashboard prompt.

  • Not sure I'm going to answer your question (if it isn't the case, maybe you can post a screenshot just showing what the issue is?)

You are using the prompt functionality of the pivot view, as the name says it acts as a prompt. Just like the dashboard prompt does, where you select a value and this is generally used as filter to limit the datasets returned by the analysis in the page.

You are maybe looking for the section area of the pivot view.

If you move your column from "prompt" to "section" the result is that the pivot is repeated again and again for all the values.

If instead of that you are looking for a default "All values" to be used in the pivot prompt to show you first a pivot with everything and later on you can use that prompt to filter, this isn't possible.

The pivot prompt only display the current values of the columns and doesn't have any "virtual value" acting as "All values".

Also, this happens when an un-aggregated measure is placed in the prompt area.  If you go into the column formula and check the "Treat as an attribute" box at the bottom of the window, it will fix it.
