automatically exclude a new column from a pivot table
Hi,
I have some reports that have several pivot tables. If I add a new column to one of these reports it gets automatically included in the pivot table. This can cause an error as too much data may be returned for the pivot table to be created. I cant exclude the column using drag and drop because the results screen hasn't been created due to the error. Sometimes this means re-creating the entire report just because someone wanted a new column to appear only in the CSV export.
So my question is - how can I exclude a column before the results are generated, so that I don't get an error ?

If you have reports with tables already created and you just want to make sure that new columns are not added to the existing views, you can do that in the analysis properties (see image below).

Thank you very much - that has worked fine - I wish I had known about it before :-)

It would be great if you can close the thread as answered. Will help future users of this forum..
