Hi,

Our client migrated from OBIEE 12c to OAS 5.9

I tried http://servername/analytics-ws, adding the -ws at the end of URL, to bypass the error of "FAILED TO CONNECT TO SERVER" as per Doc ID 2187181.1 when the environment is implemented with SSO and it worked but the main problem is when exporting reports, dashboard and BIP, these are the errors:

For Report Plugins - "WARNING: Failed to process report"

For Dashboard Plugins - "SEVERE: !!! Error while loading OpenCV for FindReportSnapshotDifferences"

and when you compare the environments, its result will have -ws at the end of the URL, which will cause not to redirect to server. What must be the main problem for this errors? Is there any solution you can recommend?

Another question, is BVT compatible to use against OAS? Is there any tool or variable to set before using BVT?

  • As said in the other thread, the MOS document https://support.oracle.com/epmos/faces/DocContentDisplay?id=2072347.1 says BVT is not supported on OAS. The question is what "not supported" means: it does (maybe) work but there is no support from Oracle if it doesn't? Or it means it doesn't work?

Yes, they are aware in that specific document and they did not accept "not supported" hence they want to know if its "compatible".

    Thank you for answering :)

  • BVT isn't really maintained or developed anymore, it was a tool to motivate people to move to 12c at the beginning and as been used for the initial cloud migration as well, but that's about it.

I did post an idea in the CCC Analytics forum to make the BVT code opensource so the community could take over the project and keep making it compatible with new releases (in the end OAS isn't much different than OBIEE 12c in most of things).

The idea is ... still just an idea, didn't hear anything from Analytics PMs.
