BI Publisher and SSO

BI Publisher is a built-in component of OAS, right? If we were to connect to an OAS instance immediately after installation, then we were to click the New link (or Create as in our company's skin) on the main OAS toolbar, we would see a grouping called Published Reporting, which includes BI Publisher options such as Report and Data Model.
If that is correct, and if we’ve already figured out how to connect our existing SSO to OAS, do we also need a separate SSO for BI Publisher?
If I’m thinking of this correctly, it seems that the only reason for a separate SSO configuration for BI Publisher would be if we intend to install BI Publisher as its own independent, stand-alone product, with its own URL etc...
But our engineering team believes that “after SSO is working for OAS, BI Publisher requires its own, additional, SSO setup”.
I don't find the answer to this in the Oracle documentation. Thoughts from the experts?

OAS doesn't work like older OBIEE version, the SSO happen now "outside" OAS because OAS itself has its lightweight SSO turned on and it should be left like that because it's required for the tool to work properly.
In this setup, once SSO is setup for OAS, it will cover Answers (classic), DV, Publisher and everything at the same time.
Of course this is valid if the install and setup is done following the documentation and not doing some home-made cooking in files like older OBIEE versions required.
