The pivot visualization in OBI Classic and DV does not provide the ability to drill in and out of data unless the model has a built in hierarchy or you work to set up column based interaction. I would like to see the pivot visualization allow for expand / collapse capability similar to that seen in Microsoft Excel out of the box for any returned rowset based on the query criteria.
Use Case and Business Need
Data Analyst has queried a data set and returned results. The analyst would like to create a hierarchy which allows the dashboard viewer or the collaborator to drill in / out of interesting headings. The hierarchy has not been constructed in the underlying data model. The visualization should allow this interaction much like MS Excel.

It is too difficult to explore large data sets in the pivot view and drill to details.

Generally in Data Visualization the concept of hierarchical columns (known from OBIEE metadata) and allowing asymetral drilling is completelly missing. Even when working with Subject Areas from OBIEE in DV, DV is not aware of hierarchical columns, so you cannot work with it in DV. Very disarable feature (with ability to defince hierarchies for external data sources as well).

For me, this bugs out as soon as I do more than two or three clicks on it. Rows are empty, out of sync etc.

Initial deliver of being able to expand/collapse pre-defined hierarchies (Subject Areas, Essbase, EPM) is currently scheduled for the end of Q1 2021 (OAC)

This video is impressive. Very good direction.
I will continue to be hopeful for inferred hierarchies, not defined in rpd.
