Writeback field using drop down values

Question

Friends,

I have a tabular report and on one of the writeback enabled column, I have a need to show the user a list of values to be selected and use that value to do the writeback. I'm using OBIEE 11.1.1.7.2.

PS: A free format of the same column works fine, updates the underlying table/column.

You might want to think about passing your user to Apex at this point. Really writeback is extremely limited cf above.
