To get week ending dates from week number in obiee report

Which is what I said was the only way for you to answer your question as it depends on how your week is calculated ...
Just to be sure test your formula with end of year and begin of year dates, because that's where the multiple definition of "week" existing even in an Oracle database act in a different way.
And if you have another 10 minutes of time you maybe want to consider to invest them to get rid of the EVALUATE because at some point your source will not be an Oracle database anymore, or an admin will disable EVALUATE after seeing some weird things executed on the DB. So ideally you would write the same thing without using EVALUATE only with OBIEE functions so it will always work in a same consistent way on Oracle DB, Excel, Essbase or any other source you will have ....

...as I stated above but alas that probably falls under the category "your argument is invalid, please shut up" :-P

To be honest, you could have told him the your (perfectly valid) argument in a more friendly way, we're here to help each other, not to to make others feel stupid.
I'm here answering questions to help others and as a result get better myself, so I welcome criticism, but be fair.

Could? Sure. Looking at the average willingness to learn or even comprehend, resistance to critical thought and general level of effort displayed in most threads? Not really.
The dogged pursuit of this kind of attitude is what ruins projects and gives our profession a bad rep.

Respectfully - this is a case of inmates running asylum. Your business people get to tell you WHAT - never get to tell you HOW.
When we are willing to cut quality for the sake of speed -- we set a precedent (or it has been set, unfortunately); the BI system will show signs of wear and will begin not to perform. No one will remember the urgency of the business request - they'll only remember we built the crumby system.
I find myself daily saying. "I'm not going to cut corners" or "I'm going to say NO for a much bigger YES" to clients that can let me go without warning.
MY ADVICE: give the business the quick and dirty fix; build the proper way and swap it out ... never rest at the quick and dirty fix.

Thanks Thomas. Yes I am working to find an alternate, even I do not want to use Evaluate .

sorry that was for Gianni.
I completely agree with your point. The fix which I am providing to the business, is for some time so that they have access to their critical reports in the way they want. We have already raised the request to our ETL and RPD team for the permanent solutions which will take some time just because processes needs to be followed.
Thank you

Very clearly even. At least I have a sense of humour and understand the concepts of snarkiness, sarcasm and wit
