Promoting Workbooks/Datasets up tiers (Dev>Test>Staging>Prod, but can't change Dataset's connection)

We have an issue that seems like something others would also be encountering.
Our systems generally have 4 Database tiers, with the same tables etc. in each; Dev, Test, Staging, Prod
Since we embed many OAC workbooks, we want to promote them up our tiers, and test them at each stage with the corresponding DB Connection. However, OAC Datasets do not allow us to change the Connection. We end up having to manually replicate Datasets for each Connection in the promotion sequence, then do the "Replace Dataset" action (when it lets us, and the "Replace" button isn't grayed out... separate issue).
Is there an easier way to do this? If we could switch a Dataset's corresponding Connection, that would do the trick since we could just duplicate and swap. We want to avoid updating our Connection credentials each time to keep pointing to different tiers.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! Thank you all.

Hi,
Have you tried keeping the same connection name across instances?
Other comments welcome.

@EzequielC-Oracle I don’t think that your advice could be applicable. Have you been in charge of Dev2Prod processes for DV part of OA? Having the ability to change connection assigned to tables in data set definitions should be integral part of product (along with other functionalities supporting smooth Dev2Prod processes in DV)
@User_QX5BC I have created Idea for this back in 2020 (in Under Oracle review status):
So you can vote for it to give it more importance. Thanks

Hi, we also have a need to change the connection for the dataset. This would help repointing the dataset to a test database or dev database (which has different connection names).
