Use .xlsx Excel templates in BI Publisher
Comments

Will be very useful upgrade

Has this been implemented. Can we use xlsx templates? xlsx templates are small in size unlike the 97-2003 templates.
Please let us know how do we take this forward?

Also looking for this update! Thanks!

This feature is a must for my client UKRI as well. BI Publisher currently allows Excel templates only in Excel version 97-2003 (*.xls) in Oracle Fusion, and this version can only accommodate first 3 conditional formats and we need more than 3 conditional formats in our Time and Labor reports.

Upvoted. In terms of data output in Excel, Oracle is few decades behind. It is frustrating to have data limitations of 65k rows (per sheet) on the output and then spend time in collating the data instead of actually doing analysis.

The client has been openly mocking the fact that Oracle has been hanging on to a 27-year old Excel technology. We really hope Oracle does something about this. There are already a number of enhancement requests about this for years now, and they just decide to leave it as is.

This would be so helpfull when Oracle could change from .xls to .xlsx
The rest of the world has done so 10 years ago!

Yes, please make xlsx available. This would bring so many benefits compared to the xls.
Thanks,
Eric

Is there any update here from the product development team? Why is Oracle not considering this change as it is one of the valuable change as part of the BI Publisher with Excel Reporting?
when will Oracle realize that this is a needed change please make it compatible with xlsx instead of just 97-2003 templates.
thanks!

@Raghavendra Raghunath-Oracle - is this something that you can help us to direct this to the product development team?

I wonder why it is taking so long for Oracle to address this… If it is technically not feasible, then they should just post a support note saying that 'Oracle can't do this' instead of making all the customers wait for more than half a decade.
