Basic Authentication - OAS iBot/Job eMail Delivered Agents

Hi Friends! Long time lurker here.
We've been an OBIEE/OAS customer for 14 years.
We've extensively used delivered reporting via e-mail for that entire time.
Microsoft has recently put a proper date on Basic Authentication being deprecated, and that's going to sink our reporting configuration. I've opened tickets with support - to no avail.
What alternatives do you utilize for on-premise e-mail delivered reports? How are you planning to work around Basic Auth no longer being an option?
OAuth authentication isn't currently available even in 7.4.

Hi Support for OAuth authentication is in the roadmap/in the works for OAC. I do not know of specific timelines for OAS. @Alan Lee - Oracle-Oracle Any input on this ask for OAS? Thanks Gayathri 1

Hi Tim, I did read randomly about those changes with the Microsoft SMTP, but didn't have to handle them myself so far… Some ideas while waiting a more official reply on what the roadmap has for that. I believe that even for Microsoft there is generally a way to configure things to use the SMTP without authentication, it is just annoying to configure fully (Google has the same: an annoying config to avoid proper authentication). Something that is maybe more usable as workaround waiting for an official support for the new authentication would be to use a SMTP proxy, or SMTP relay. You install it locally, and that one will act as "dumb" SMTP without any authentication. The proxy/relay will then be handling the secure authentication with the Microsoft SMTP and simply forward all the messages there. Just make sure to protect your proxy/relay correctly because it would just be like a password-less SMTP exposed on the network. The proxy/relay solution would be my workaround waiting for OAS 2025 with a native support for the new authentication (assuming it will come). 1
