How to Update GL Account Analysis Workbooks and Map to the CAA Subject Area
In our earlier post Fusion ERP Analytics: How to Get Started with Configurable Account Analysis (CAA), we discussed how to configure the CAA subject area as part of your transition from the GL Account Analysis functionality, which is planned for deprecation in 25.R3.
One of the key challenges customers may encounter during this transition is the handling of existing DV workbooks that were originally built using the GL Account Analysis subject area. To support a smooth and efficient migration, it is important to understand how these workbooks can be updated or realigned to point to the new CAA subject area, without needing to recreate them from scratch.
To support your transition from GL Account Analysis to the Configurable Account Analysis (CAA) subject area, we’ve provided helpful resources to simplify workbook migration.
✅ Column Mapping Reference
To help with this transition, refer to the following Excel file:
- Column level mapping between GL Account Analysis and CAA subject areas
- Navigation paths and folder details
- Helps identify equivalent columns to substitute in your existing workbooks
🔄 Methods to Replace Columns in Workbooks
You have two options to update your DV workbooks:
1..Manual Replacement via 'Edit Workbook'
- Open your GL Account Analysis workbook in edit mode
- Add CAA subject area from the subject area selector.
- Refer column level mapping above to locate columns in CAA subject area.
- Replace all the columns one by one as applicable.
- Adjust filters and calculations as needed.
- Save and validate the workbook post changes.
✅ Suitable if the workbook is simple or have very few workbooks to update.
2..Use "Replace Data Set" Feature (Recommended)
- Open the GL Account Analysis workbook you want to update
- Click Edit to load the subject area panel on the left
- Right click on the GL Account Analysis subject area label and choose "Replace Dataset"
- Select the CAA subject area the you would have defined
- Review, specify the column mappings between both the subject areas in replace dataset window.
- Click Replace and the workbook will be updated based on CAA subject area.
- Validate your workbook and it is recommended to test this in non prod instance to start with.
✅ This approach is faster and more scalable, especially if you have multiple workbooks to update.
Video Walkthrough
Watch the short demo video to see this process step by step in action :
Note: Deactivating the "Account Reconciliation" functional area does not impact access to existing workbooks built on the GL Account Analysis subject area. After deactivation, data refresh would stop but you will still be able to open and access such workbooks and complete the transition to CAA using above methods.

Thanks @Sushil Dhoot-Oracle for sharing this info. Would like to know if AHCS will be part of CAA as well ? End users would like to drill down to AHCS to see detail level info.

Thanks for your question. Currently Accounting Hub is not part of CAA However, we do see value in enabling drill-downs into AHCS for users who want to analyze journals and associated transaction details. This is currently being considered as a future roadmap item. We encourage you to log an enhancement request via Idea Lab on Customer Connect. That will help us prioritize this based on broader customer demand and use cases.
Please do share any specific scenarios or reporting needs your users have, those insights are valuable in shaping the direction.
