I would like to request the inclusion of an "Owner" (report creator or object owner of the catalog object (SAW_SRC_PATH)) column in the OAC usage tracking tables as described in the documentation below:

https://docs.oracle.com/en/cloud/paas/analytics-cloud/acabi/track-usage.html#GUID-2C21BB2B-E7C8-4F2C-97D6-12F5A361A56F

Including the owner information for reports, dashboards, and other shared artifacts would greatly enhance our ability to:

  • Identify top contributors and authors
  • Track report ownership for maintenance and auditing
  • Improve governance by monitoring who creates and shares public content

This additional metadata would be particularly helpful for enterprise environments where content is widely shared and collaboration is key..

Currently, the usage tracking tables capture who accesses a report or dashboard (i.e., the viewer), but they do not capture the creator or owner of the report itself.

This is a great addition so we can enable self service features for the users and ensure governance for this self servicing. Definitely required for a well managed Centralized reporting tool.

The introduction of self-service features will significantly enhance the user experience by providing them with the autonomy to access and utilize the reporting tool without relying heavily on IT or support teams. This will not only boost productivity but also enable users to make data-driven decisions in a more timely manner. At the same time, the governance aspect is crucial to ensure that these self-service capabilities are used responsibly and securely. This includes implementing appropriate access controls, data validation, and monitoring mechanisms to prevent unauthorized access or misuse of data.A well-governed self-service reporting tool will enable organizations to:

    • Improve user adoption and satisfaction
    • Increase productivity and efficiency
    • Enhance decision-making capabilities
    • Reduce support requests and IT backlog
    • Ensure data security and compliance

By striking the right balance between self-service and governance, organizations can unlock the full potential of their reporting tool and drive business value

It’s about leaving a meaningful footprint behind.
