thanks for the tip!

Hi Gbenga, Your article link just shows how to create users. I'm asking about deleting user standards.
-
Hi Venkata/Gianni, You are right, it can't be done. I just tried it. Should have tried it first before asking this question. Sorry! I have another question. We have about 5000 users and 900 groups in our AD. When I'm navigating in Weblogic to view the list of Users and Groups it's kind of slow (assumed this is normal).…

Hi Joel, Yes, user management can still be done at the external LDAP. I was thinking group management might be faster doing in Weblogic by ourselves. Then apply the groups to application roles. I believe the standard practice is: Users --> Groups --> App Roles --> OBI Privileges/Permission Your idea would also work and…

Hi Gbenga, I followed the first link to install our OBIEE with LDAP.
-
Thanks! good to know!
-
I'm getting this error when accessing the permissions of a folder. Also using 12.2.1.2 catalog manager.
-
Installed 12.2.1.2 and I can see the OBIS logs now.
-
Thank you Christian for your insights.

Thank you Joel for your insights.
-
Would I still need to run the Scan and Update if I just archive/unarchive objects between 12.2.1.0 and 12.2.1.2?
-
But a user with admin rights can also do that. right?
-
We installed 12.2.1.2 and this issue was resolved.
-
So by opening an analysis, it'll use the server cache. When does it use the presentation cache?

Hi Gianni, Thanks for your insights. I tried to create scenarios with your tips and something didn't add up. I think there is something wrong with my version, 12.2.1.0.0. I made permission changes using the online mode. For my subject area, EDW, I set the BIContentAuthor role to Read, saved, and closed Admin Tool. I…

Hi Christian, Thanks for sharing, somehow our company blocked the link you provided. I'll try to access it at home and get a better understanding..

Hi Jasmine, Thanks! That explains it. So I tried using the default roles and have a question. Does inheritance also play into RPD permissions? In my roles, BIServiceAdministrator inherits from BIContentAuthor, which inherits from BIConsumer. The standard inheritance. I created 3 users (test_consumer, test_author,…

Many thanks Gianni, Christian, and Frog! I was initially confused because the Add/Remove Subject Area was greyed out in my Analysis. So I thought the only way to incorporate results is through the Set operations: When I saw Gianni's screenshot where it's accessible, I searched and found this article ( ) which showed me the…

Thanks guys for the insights. My intention was to join two result sets using a common column, like Employee_ID. For example, from HR subject area I will retrieve (Employee_ID, Address) and from FIN subject area I will retrieve (Employee_ID, Salary). In my Analyses I want to see (Employee_ID, Address, Salary). I was able to…

Hi Frog Toad - thanks for that tip! Will check it out! Hi Gianni - thanks for your insights. Initially I was going to create two subject areas, HR and FIN, and control access to them under Manage Privileges. I would also create two catalog folders HR and FIN and only the people in the appropriate group would have access…
