I suppose at this point the real question is: has the Bristlecone Adapter been tested on OBIEE 12c ? Which version of the NW RFC SDK software from SAP should be installed ? The OBIEE is installed on a Windows Server 2012.

Don't know if that can fix your issue, but we did solve our connection problem by using the Cloudera ODBC driver for the Admintool connection but the Merant drivers 7.1.5 on the system running the BI Server (in our case Linux RHEL).

Hive over OCI ? Who is saying that ? I'm just trying to do the following: OBIEE 11.1.1.9 Now Supports HiveServer2 and Cloudera Impala - Rittman Mead Consulting but main difference is that instead of Cloudera Impala we have HDP Hive2 but logic is the same. So what's strange here ?
