Can you check in the logs what the error is? You can find the logs at C:\Users\<your username>\AppData\Local\Temp\DVDesktop\logs
-
Yes looks like you're using the wrong port

As of now BICS can query either the oracle dbaas or a remote db with the remote data connector. the target db pointed by RDC can be one between Db2, oracle db, olap, sql server and teradata as per documentation
-
There are no Presentation/Session Variables in DVD at the moment.
-
You can attach BICS to an Oracle DB on premise with the Remote Data Connector You may upload data from various source with Data Sync

if You are interested specifically in those two quarters you could "fix" them and then write the formulas. You could create 3 new fields like E.g. "QTY Q1" As "FILTER( Quantity USING Quarter = 'Q1FY17')" "QTY Q2" As "FILTER( Quantity USING Quarter = 'Q2FY17')" "Q on Q" As "QTY Q2"-"QTY Q1"

I would say that is impossible without the actual password. If there was a public workaround, it would make the password useless since the project could always be opened with the workaround. I believe that creating such a workaround is not something that Oracle would provide.

Hi DVD is a desktop tool, what you may want is to publish your project within Visual Analyser as part of OBIEE. with the latest release of OBIEE you should be able to import DVD projects in VA.
-
Hi, You created a Visualisation Project, so you'll need either Visualisation tool which can be Visual Analyser in case of OBIEE or BICS. Not sure if BICS already has the support for the lift and shift of a DVD project but OBIEE (+VA) has.

Hi, 1. Yes you can upload data to DBaaS, there are several ways to do it, one of them is Oracle BICS Data Sync 2. BICS "lives" on top of your DBaaS, all you have to do is to model your fact and dimensions in ythe data modeller, the following link is a tutorial on how to use it from Oracle…

Hi, As this doc suggests there is a dedicated ODBC driver for RPAS. Unfortunately at the current point DVD can't query directly ODBC, so I believe that Oracle RPAS can't be queried by DVD as of now.

Hi, I believe removing is not an option? You should be able to set the permissions for each table in your data model. Can you try doing the same with a column? does it work?
-
you may want to refer to https://docs.oracle.com/cloud/latest/globalcs_gs/OEDMH/toc.htm

I would suggest to try "Oracle Application" but haven't got PBCS to test it.

Hi, Uploading the RPD doesn't upload your local database to the cloud. by default BICS expects to source data from the DBCS it's attached to. You can either use Oracle BICS Data Sync to upload your data into DB Cloud Service and repoint your RPD to work from there or use Oracle BICS Remote Data Connector to connect your…

The list of filters is detailed on top of the visualisations. You can simply click on the "X" to delete filters and you'll end up with the overall dataset
