OAC instances are not going down during maintenece. The time windows provided are a precaution to let the customer know that something is going on. Once the update is done, users will get an on-screen message saying "new capabilities were added," with the option to refresh their session if they want to.

Have you considered using the responsive layout to manage that? The new mobile update supports responsive layouts, and in some cases, you can decide that the mobile layout will be a message saying, "Dashboard not designed for mobile consumption."
