Hi Christian Understood, thank you for taking the time to explain. I will need to talk to my developers because I do not have access to the RPD, I only have edit / answer access at the front end. Thanks again Joe

Hi Gianni So this is a normal behavior when it comes to having a case statement with a measure (with aggregation rule), no work around to use it as a prompt and produces values for users to select?
-
Hi Joel Yes it does return data, the values in the statement.
-
Thanks Jerry- case statement worked
-
Sorry Gianni, you are right. I am talking about OBIEE 12C...keep in mind that I only have access to build analyses to certain subject area and do not have access to the RPD. I have one fact and in this fact I have dimensions and one measure which is the amount....in the dimensions one of them is the opportunity id (i.e.…

Thank you Gianni, really really appreciate your help (not to mention you and Christian are always there to help)

Hi Christian I do not have access to the back end, our team has only access to the front end UI but not the RPD or anything else. Joe

Thanks Jerry Adding the SUM & BY to the case statement works - thanks and happy thanksgiving
-
It does appear but if I selected for some reason it will create 2 rows per customer, one row for the last 4 years and one row for current year and it will filter on the NEW but it will be false because this customer is not new, they have done business with us.
-
Thank you Jerry for helping me, No I dont put single quote...so my filter looks like this in the SQL filter And if I run the report I still get both the NEW & EXIST
-
Thanks Joel but if I do that..the only thing that change is the number in the column in the left where the formula is but we will still see Nov as -1 and as 0- see attached image. Thanks again Joe
-
Thank you Gianni

So @Christian Berg, because they are not joint or conformed at the RPD level what I am trying to do is not possible? so if they are conformed or joint...then will it be possible? Thanks Joe
-
I am not sure of the technical term if we called conformed or whatever, I do not do anything the the RPD level, but all I know that when I was able to look at the diagram they were not jointed/connected. So if I pick the fact in red "Non OU Rev" with the green dimension "Product FPH..." I will not get data, the same for…

Thanks again @Christian Berg and sorry for the confusion. Let me try again. Let me start with this, although I am using the same subject area but the facts and product hierarchy folders I am using in my analyses are not joint The ones in red are not joint with the one in green. Now is the requirements (and by the way, it…

Thanks @Christian Berg, Before I try your suggestion, let me ask you, I was hoping to create another prompt and analysis on the same dashboard page next to this one where I search for the same period of time and region and customers but for different set of products, like this: based on the first result we have 2 customers…
-
Thank you all for your help- really appreciate it....I wish I can mark all answers correct but can not I think...so I will pick one
-
Sorry for my lack of knowledge...I went to Edit Dashboard > Dashboard Properties > Filters and Variables and picked my prompt https://docs.oracle.com/middleware/1221/biee/BIEUG/prompts.htm#BIEUG1171 ...but how would I send someone an URL with a filter in the url for specific value?

LOL I just googled it and the first link with a video came up was for M---we need to work more on our SEO and I need to know more about OBIEE....I am still reading what you provided and still need to try it...before I reply.
