Djam, Although Oracle 12c databases are designed to work best with 12c drivers, I was able to connect successfully to a 12c database with BIP 11.1.1.7 using the driver type you mentioned above. Additionally, make sure your TNSnames.ora file is properly configured to allowed for the connection to the 12c database.
