Reason: It is the current release that this client is using. I didn't even have to download anything from Oracle, because I had a download from 2-3 years ago, both FMC and OBIEE, that I've used many times in the past.

Thank you, Christian.

Thank you, Christian. Yeah, I know it's just a warning, but I'm sort of picky about having a clean consistency check. Allow me to restate part of my question: Why was the Grand Total checkbox unimportant in 11g, but then became important in 12c? Did something change between 11g and 12c so that perhaps something that worked…

Thanks, Christian. I navigated to 1588912.1 and found this note (see below) at the bottom, along with the suggested workaround, which is basically to restart the entire WLS domain. Since that is not really a great option for us, I'll live with the delay. THANK YOU for the reply. Note: Due to the OPSS policies caching at…

"machine name" is my PC name where OBIEE is running. Gianni, your explanation makes sense. The VPN is assigning a local IP address that is unknown to me (10.87.2.14). And, of course, node manager knows nothing about that IP address. I added that IP to my hosts file, and the NodeManager was still not responsive to…

Amen to that, brother.

Yup, that was the problem. I did not give that a second thought, because I knew that I had enabled virtualization earlier in the day. Just one problem with that: I had enabled virtualization on a different VM. Duh! Thank you!

Gianni, I don't have a link or publicly available reference. Check your LinkedIn messages from me.

Christian and Gianni, thank you both for the effort. It's always good to have one or both of you contributing. I tell my OBIEE students that when they see an answer from either of you, they can count on that answer being pretty much the best that can be found. They may not like that answer, but... Thanks, guys. P.S. to…

Gianni, I think you are saying that https://adc3-zdfi-fa-ext.oracledemos.com:443/xmlpserver should work. Unfortunately, no. Same error as before.
-
Yeah, I tried port 443 yesterday while running through my list of "usual suspects". No love.
-
Thank you for clarifying, Gianni. I will just avoid it for now and work offline. Funny thing though... it was working the other day.
-
Joel, I completely agree with you about the access credentials. However, this is Oracle's demo environment, and those credentials are available to all. I tried that URL, and it did not work for me. I got the same error message as initially reported. Does it work for you?
-
Christian, that made me laugh out loud - literally! Thanks for the feedback. I understand the OBIA correlation. Sad, but true.
-
Christian, I'm going to tag your answer as the correct one. A follow-up question, please: There are some OTBI Analyses that work just fine until we add another attribute column, at which time the fact columns all become null. The reason for wanting to see the RPD is to potentially track back through the joins and see where…

I am trying that, Gianni, but I'm struggling with a very minimal amount of CSS knowledge. I see a few things that look promising, but I'm having to learn CSS as I go.
-
Christian, your insights are, as usual. spot on. We were just trying to do something quick and dirty, but dynamic DSN is certainly the way to go. As for the functionality that I mentioned, it turns out that it DOES indeed work - but not for members of the BI Service Administrator role. It works well for members of…

Working at a client site, so I don't have the option of patching an instance to a later version. I do, however, have a more recent version at a different client. I can test over there. Thanks for the suggestion, Christian.
-
Well, I sure didn't think so either, but I wanted confirmation. Thanks, Robert. Correct answer credited to you.

I HATE it when Christian says "no way", because that really does mean "no way". Alas, if Christian doesn't have a solution, then there just isn't one. Thanks for the assistance, guys. Now I can stop looking. I was just thinking: Wouldn't it be nice if a simple ctrl+c on the cell would do the trick? Although that doesn't…
