I would be quite happy to use an RTF. My client really, really wants to use XLS.
-
Thank you, Noelle. That gives me another path to explore to try to figure this out. The document mentions that XSLT can add style attributes to data elements, which sounds like what I might need. But alas, it does not provide an example, so I will have to add that to my ever-growing list of things to figure out. I really…

Suresh, this example was indeed useful, but (unfortunately) only in helping me to decide that what I really want to do cannot be done. This example uses an attribute of a field in the XML data (specifically, the @manager attribute on the Employee_ID field). What I really want is to be able to test the value of the field…

Thank you, Noelle. Although that particular information is eluding me in the certification matrix, I had pretty much come to that conclusion. Thank you for the confirmation.

Unfortunately, this article applies only to Office 365 ProPlus, and only to BI Publisher 12c. I need direction for Office 365 Business and BI Publisher Template Builder 11.1.1.9.

More information. I deinstalled Office 32-bit, and installed Office 64-bit. At this point, my OS and my Office are both 64-bit. But when I attempt to install the 64-bit template builder, the installer tells me to install the 32-bit version. So please tell me - under what circumstances would the 64-bit installer be…

Which of these two conflicting pieces of information in this image contains the correct information?
-
Bingo, sir! That does indeed work in the 11g version of the add-in. I was working with the older 10g version that is appropriate for our version of PeopleSoft, and it behaves differently. Thank you!
-
Nope. That does not fulfill my request. That solution only suppresses identical values from subsequent Rows. It does not create a merged cell as shown in my request. Instead, it creates multiple empty cells below the first one.
-
Thank you, Christian. Good info, sir.
-
Thanks, Christian. That's probably one of the best pieces of advice EVER.
-
Gianni, your guidance was right on the money. Your first comment led me a significant way down the correct path. Once I started describing what I was doing, it was clear in my mind where you were indicating I should go. Thank!
-
I think I understand, Gianni. I am testing, will reply back here with results.

Christian, I inherited the RPD, so I'm not sure why the count function was written against the dimension table. Here's that screenshot confirming it:
-
Gianni, I think I understand what you and Christian are saying. You stated "if you have to count members, that must be a real measure which can exist without needing the dimension." With that in mind, let me explain where I'm getting stuck in my thinking. How many members do we have in total? Let's say it's 20 total…
-
Christian, that's exactly what I was looking for. Thank you. If I can find the 'Correct Answer' button I'll click it.
-
Karol, although I do not have a solution for you, I do have a different way for you (and whomever requested this calculation) to think about the problem. First, here is your original example, broken out just a bit more to provide additional clarity. And, for the sake of discussion, let's add a fifth observation, with '5'…
-
No offense taken, Christian. I appreciate the suggestions.
-
I've dumped and tried again probably a dozen times over the past few days. And nope, didn't mess with any settings.
-
Yes to both questions. I installed the same Java version on the same OS.
