As far as I am aware ( e.g. 'click 'Store' and search for 'dv content' ). Mark

Is this not what you want? https://docs.oracle.com/en/cloud/paas/analytics-cloud/create-pixel-perfect-reports.html Mark 1.0.0.20

Hi Matthew, Subject area or Logical SQL I think are the only options for 'Applications'. You can get SQL access to the Cloud ERP Database using BIP as part of OTBI and create extracts you can consume ... or use Data Sync ... or use the BICC .... and also 18.3.3 of OAC (aka OAC 5/September 2018 release) also has a…

Also ..... BIP has an 'Explain Plan' button on the data modeller, so you'll be able to see the plan..... Mark 1.0.0.20

Hi Shalindra, You must know the table you are applying the restriction to and the guides show the indexes on them, so checking out your table and indexes - which are detailed at the end of the section on the table defintion - should answer 'Will Last Modified Date column be indexed for better performance?'. Regards, Mark

Downloaded Version 12.2.5.0.0-20180829155113 and it all upgraded just fine. Mark 1.0.0.20

Hi Philippe, The video is great as a synopsis. Whilst that is being propgated to all cloud servers we have some customers using DV Desktop - is that also being made available shortly? Regards Mark

Hi Lenin, I used it a year or so ago connected to my OAC instance and remember it being fairly straightforward to set up - I recall just entering a link in the app to http://<your ip>:<port> and then I did a little blog on using it here https://www.wegobeyond.co.uk/blog/oracle-day-by-day-app Regards, Mark

Fernando makes a good point - I was with a customer last week who was setting up OAC and I believe the current version of OAC needs 12.1 (or 11g) as the DB. That was with the non-autonomous OAC of course. I have yet to set up an autonomous OAC instance but looking at the setup documentation it looked like a really…

If you have an interactive report taking more than five minutes to return data to the screen, then perhaps consider adding additional restrictions to the BIP report. Can you restict the number of rows being processed somehow to speed it up based on some additional prompts rather than extending the timeout. Regards, Mark

I think Fernando has pointed you in the right direction. Without seeing the error it is possible that DVCS cannot connect to whichever data sources your desktop one was connected to. Mark

Well, Oracle of course have a lot of tools available and it all depends 'what you need to do'. For example, I've used SmartView to connect Excel to a subject area and show the capbility of creating a pivot in Excel based on BI data. So, pulling data and structures rather than pushing. I've always gone back to the customer…

Hi Bhargav, I believe Mahesh is correct that it will not port like that. It's something that i've never seen it do. Can I ask though .... can you add some more detail to this as I'm not quite sure what you are looknig for "....or is there any separate tool specially to create these kind of reports in Oracle"? Can you connect to the 12c DB using other tools ( specificially i'm thinking SQL Developer using the same sort of connecting method ) Mark 1.0.0.19

If you have installed DV Desktop and then subsequently moved the directories/subdirectors using OS commands then that's not something I have done - but as it is a fairly quick process, I would just think about just re-installing it where you want it. Mark 1.0.0.19

I'm using 12.2.4.2.0-20180220134543 and am connected to my 12.1 cloud DB in the same format as you are doing there. You're right that It is the same format as SQL Developer. If it was able to connect and you'd got the un/pw wrong then you do get a message saying that, so it does look like it's not even connecting that far.…

Not that I am aware of (but i'm always eager to learn if I got that wrong!). The only 'editable' export format to third party I have seen is CSV, so you could do your analysis and export the CSV and import that into powerpoint I guess. Have you tried the 'Narrate' option within DV itself? You could have a Powerpoint with…

Hi Pawel, I went and had a look at the latest DV. I created a new data set by loading a new Excel file. I then went to the list of data sets and found my new data set. There a 'hamburger' menu on the right for each row and from this I selected 'Edit'. This brought me into the data set in edit mode. On the top right of this…

Hi Pawel, I've not seen the ability to rename a data set ( but you can edit it and save it as something else and then delete the original ). I too have created project folders but again i've not seen the functionality to do that with data - good question actually - I'd be interested if anyone has seen that functionality (…
