Hi, Great pointers from the guys above - What I was wondering is about volume - is this a huge dataset? - can you tell us how many records are returned in BIEE and how many in DV. Also, have you tried taking the data straight from the subject area - effectively creating a variant of the analysis in DV. Mark 1.0.0.17

Same setup as me then and i've not experienced that.

Hi, Getting your contractors to look at the DV log files would be the way to go I think - to see what the actual error is rather than assuming anything. Mark

Yes - mine looks like that (DV 4.1) Mark

Hi all, I've just installed the very latest 2018 version ..... and it now works! Mark

I am on Win 10. I just upgraded from 12.2.4.0 to 12.2.4.1 I selected an xlsx and created a data file and a project. I then tried another file and that seemed ok too. Mark

Hi Jan, Interesting that they all have exactly the same structure - why not just combine all the CSV's together into one? It'd be easy to add a column to each that says "Data SetX" to each of them and then load them up as one data set and you can then filter on the specific set you are interested in ( or several of them…

Thanks Christian. I was still using "Version 12.2.4.0.0-20171024214116" - i've just launched it now and it says "your DV Desktop is upto date". I assume .1 is minor bugfix? Mark

Are you referring to the OAC update, not a new DVD update? Mark

DV4 has both Horizontal and Vertical Box Plots as native charts. Mark

When you say create a "data source", do you mean a "Data Set"? When you click on create a "data set" you should get a list of options. I assume you are clicking on "File" (should be the first option) and then you should get a list of files. Is it "crashing" at that point. When you say "crashing" does that mean the whole of…

https://docs.oracle.com/middleware/bidv1221/desktop/data-viz-onprem-manage.htm and click on "Troubleshoot" and look for "diagnose a technical issue". The zip file created is a bunch of the logs.

You are entirely right - I was taking a leap of faith that the OP was really referring to DV in OAC rather that DVD.

I connected the iOS version to OAC some time ago and did a little blog ( Oracle Day by Day App - Beyond Blog ) of that in operation - which also references a great 6 min video from Oracle. Connecting was really straightforward and was just my IP/Port from OAC. If you don't know that then you'll need to ask whomever looks…

To add to all the other great suggestions, I find these very helpful https://www.youtube.com/user/OracleBITechDemos

Like you can in BI EE you mean? Interesting question ... actually I've not seen where it can be done so if anyone does know I'd like to know where i've not been looking all this time! The properties that you can change ( hyperlimks, alingment, legend titles, etc ) change depending on the visualisation that you're working…

Hi, That's just because the actual error message is truncated in the viewer and so you are not seeing the actual reason. You will find that full dump in the log files - and I think the one you'll want is the obis1-diagnostic.log Mark
-
I suspect you're actually getting a different error as you're using a different model ( naive bayes and not linear regression). My advice is the same though - to look at the full error message in the logs. Mark

Shortly I hope. Have you seen this video that was published a couple of days ago showing publishing from Desktop to cloud ..... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AQRXdVbi2u4

I've not used the Gantt plug in before ( the 11th November 2016 one I assume ) so I downloaded and installed into DV 4. Installs just fine, and so I created the simple test case of start date, end date, task ( as an attribute ) in a spreadheet and created the data set. When I goto visualize that trio I get the Gantt plug…
